Mr. A. J. Wichita, a former U.S. Navy engineering officer, founded the company, Aqua Shield Chemical Company, to manufacture silicone lubricants and sealers in 1963.
In 1968, this company expanded into additional maintenance products and in 1977 acquired the rights to market Nitro-9 Additives. Some of the major oil companies that purchased those original products starting in the late 1940s, (now Nitro-9 Products) are still customers today.
In 1969, Mr. Wichita was appointed to the Texas Lone Star District Export Council by William Daly, then Secretary of Commerce, as requests for information to establish manufacturing programs and production facilities began to grow around the globe.
In 2000, Mr. Wichita's was again honored by being nominated for the "International Business Achievement" award and was again recognized by the Dallas, Texas Chamber of Commerce.
